Headwaters Youth Conservation Corps

Headwaters Youth Conservation Corps, an AmeriCorps Program of The Place. HYCC is an experiential based program where Corpsmembers serve as part of a field crew engaging in environmental conservation projects. Projects include trail construction and maintenance, wetland construction, tree planting, scientific data gathering and river mapping, partnering with community agencies such as NRCS, Cornell Cooperative Extension, USDA, and the Upper Susquehanna Coalition.

The garden beds created at Cook Park for campers is a project that was a collaborative effort between Headwaters Youth Conservation Corps, who provided the labor, and Stacie Edick, with the Community Gardens program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County that provided the larch lumber, hardware and top soil.
