Reminders
- In-person voter registration deadline for the November 3, 2020 election is Friday, October 9 at the Board of Elections.
- Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by October 9, 2020 and received at the Board of Elections by October 14, 2020.
- Address changes must be received at the Board of Elections by Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Absentee Ballot Application Request

Effective August 20, 2020, Temporary Illness also includes COVID-19 exposure, which allows voters to vote by Absentee Ballot for November 3, 2020 General Election. Click here to access the: Absentee Ballot Application for November 3, 2020 General Election.

Registered Voters are able to request an Absentee Ballot Application from the Board of Elections at 607-337-1760 or 607-337-1761, or emailing boe@co.chenango.ny.us. Please provide your full name and address where you would like the application sent to. Once the application is returned to the Board of Elections and processed, you will be mailed a ballot in early October for the November election. Voter registration deadline to vote in the November election is October 9, 2020. Additionally, you may request your ballot by email, fax, written letter or telephone call (one call per voter, please) by providing your name, DOB, telephone number, residence address, and address where you would like your ballot mailed to.

Early Voting at the Board of Elections Office, 5 Court Street, Norwich, NY will be available on:
- Saturdays and Sundays, October 24, 25, October 31 and November 1 from 9 AM to 2 PM
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, October 26, 28 and 30 9 AM to 5 PM
- Tuesday and Thursday, October 27 and 29 9 AM to 8 PM

Local polling sites are expected to be open on Election Day from 6 AM to 9 PM, with the exception of the town of German voters who will vote at the Smithville polling site located at the Geneganslet Fire Station, 5273 State Highway 41, Smithville Flats, NY. Beginning with the November 3, 2020 General Election and all future elections, Bainbridge voters will vote at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 15 North Main Street, Bainbridge. Please contact the staff of the Board of Elections with any questions.

March 18, 2020 and June 15, 2020 Village Elections have been rescheduled for September 15, 2020 due to COVID-19.

November 3, 2020 General Election Early Voting Dates and Hours at Chenango County Board of Elections Office, 5 Court Street, Basement Level, Norwich, NY 13815:

October 24, 25, 31 and November 1 – 9 AM to 2 PM
October 26, 28, 30 – 9 AM to 5 PM
October 27 and 29 – 9 AM to 8 PM
