Housing Programs

Chenango County, with sub-recipient Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc., has routinely submitted and successfully administered a variety of housing related programs with funding from the NYS Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

  • Housing Rehabilitation II:
    • In May, we closed out the $500,000 Housing Rehabilitation I Program, having assisted twelve (12) households with serious health and safety threats to the home. With 125 residences still on the waiting list, Chenango County with sub-recipient Greater Opportunities applied for another $500,000 grant through the NYS Community Development Block Grant for a Housing Rehabilitation Program II. It was announced in November that we were awarded the grant which will assist fourteen (14) households.
